As part of our series introducing you to our team members, we sat down for a chat with Rob, who is our Head of Customer Experience.
Rob Clements
Where are you from?
I live in South Oxfordshire these days.
What have you done in your career until now?
I initially trained to be a Motor Insurance Underwriter. Still, I have spent the last 30 years in various Customer Service and Contact Centre Management roles, mainly within the insurance sector. Still, I did spend ten years working for Camelot, operators of the National Lottery during its infancy.
What is your proudest achievement?
Father to two great young men.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
Not to get old, but hey ho, that didn’t work out 🙂
What are you reading?
This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay.
What surprises people about you?
How much food I eat daily basis.
What’s your favourite quote?
I actually have 2 quotes that resonate with me. The first relayed to me by my parents from a young age was ‘treat others as you wish to be treated’. The other summarises what drives my working ethos and desire to continuously improve on the norm, and is by Russell L Ackoff ‘It is far better to do the right thing wrong than the wrong thing right’.
What is your favourite thing about being a Head of Customer Experience?
We are working with a great team who wants to do the right thing for each other and our customers.
