Sam brings to terptree 20 years of experience from learning BSL and 15 years Interpreting experience. Sam is now a non-practicing qualified BSL Interpreter due to a hearing loss.
She joined team terptree as a Customer & Bookings Coordinator and has now moved into her role as DCX & DEX Consultant, working with businesses to help improve their Deaf Customer Experience (DCX) and Deaf Employee Experience (DEX). This is as perfect role for Sam as she is so passionate about inclusion for all, and joining terptree in their mission to change the world for Deaf people.
Sam has experience working within the Deaf community not only in a practical way interpreting but also in administration and marketing.
Sam has a child with a disability so is fully aware of the challenges faced by those with disabilities. Sam’s most recent work experience has been providing professional support to families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and being Coordinator for a parent carers forum. Sam looks forward to using all her life skills and qualifications to provide the best customer service to clients.
Sam lives in Oxfordshire with her husband and two young boys who keep her on her toes! She enjoys quality time with family and friends, music concerts and festivals and enjoys Pilates and strength training whilst being chair of a fit to care committee in Oxfordshire which also keeps her busy in her spare time.
