“I trained and registered as a Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) in 2005. One year on, almost to the day – I felt like I had achieved my big goal but was still not quite satisfied with the impact that I had made. I still found myself frustrated at the lack of ethically run Interpreting Agencies.”

terptree was officially born! ‘terp’ short for Interpreter and ‘tree’ just because Victoria loves trees.

terptree’s ambitions have grown substantially, since starting out providing Sign Language Interpreting Services.

With a mission to create an inclusive world for deaf people, terptree supports some of the largest global brands and public services, effecting change by creating a world class deaf employee and customer experience.

And the question that everyone asks...

why did Victoria decide to work with deaf people?

Here is the reason...

“I started learning British Sign Language (BSL) at the age of 13, when my cousin Max was diagnosed as profoundly Deaf.

The moment I started signing and became involved in the Deaf community; going to deaf clubs and volunteering at various charity events, I immediately felt a part of the community.

Max is always at the heart of what we do at terptree. The daily barriers that he faces accessing the world acts as a deep-rooted motivation for me and our team.  We truly care about about creating a world in which deaf people can exist equally to hearing people. 

My strong connection with the deaf community brings a real understanding of the issues that are faced.

This knowledge and experience enables us at terptree to help implement the unique but simple solutions to make real change happen.”

Victoria Williams

Founder & CEO

Victoria started learning British Sign Language (BSL) at the age of 13 when her cousin Max was diagnosed as profoundly deaf. She very quickly became involved in the Deaf Community and could see the affinity with the community and had a real sense of belonging.

Sam Bennett

Head of Consultancy

Sam brings to terptree 20 years of experience from learning BSL and 15 years Interpreting experience. She joined team terptree as a Customer & Bookings Coordinator and has since moved into a role working with businesses to improve their DCX and DEX experiences. This is a great role for Sam as she’s so passionate about inclusion for all and helping terptree in their mission to change the world for Deaf people.

Rob Clements

Head of Customer Experience

Rob rejoined terptree in November 2022 to take up the Customer Service Manager role, with a key focus on supporting the Customer Booking Team and related activities.

Caroline Simmonds

Customer & Bookings Co-Ordinator / Electronic Notetaker

Caroline is passionate about customer experience and has been awarded Institute of Customer Service awards in Communication and Solutions.

Kayla Barclay

Customer & Bookings Co-Ordinator

Kayla joined the terptree team in the summer of 2022 and has several years of customer service and a background in translation and interpreting.

Danielle Graham

Finance Officer

Danni is a member of the Deaf community and has over seven years of experience working in finance. She is excited to be involved with an essential service for the deaf community and those working with us.

Esme Craggs

Executive Assistant

Esme joined terptree in December 2023 with years of experience from Vodafone and startups behind her.

Erin Parnell

Head of Operations

Erin joins us from the one and only Amazon!  Where she was Area Operations Manager, working on the largest print on demand facility in the world!  If anyone can help take terptree to the next level it’s definitely Erin!

Caroline brings 20 years of experience in customer service and previously a Service Delivery Manager for The AA. Caroline is passionate about customer experience and has been awarded Institute of Customer Service awards in Communication and Solutions.

Siân Tipping

Senior Marketing Executive

Siân joined terptree in spring 2022 and has several years of marketing experience. She believes that what terptree does is very special and is really excited to be involved and make a difference to the deaf community.

 

Jo Newton

Business Administrator

Jo has spent the majority of her working life in the Customer Service industry as a retail manager.

Upon joining terptree, she took a change in role and now enjoys her time working as the Executive Assistant to Victoria.

Aneta Falkiewicz

Deaf Consultant

Aneta has brought the experience of over 20 years of working in the deaf community. She is passionate about various projects ans engaging with the deaf community. 

Nina Goulden

Business Development Consultant

Nina joined terptree in September 2022. Nina has a degree in Deaf Studies from Wolverhampton University. She is passionate about helping others in the Deaf community to achieve their potential and to ensure they get any support they need to reach their professional ambitions.

Mirapher Ungon

Executive Assistant

After spending over 15 years in the Customer Service Industry as a Customer Support Agent and Quality Analyst, I developed a passion for administrative tasks and research. This led me to pursue my dream of becoming an Executive Assistant. 

Rieschelle Ann Javier-Basina

Marketing Assistant

Rieschelle has brought years of experience in the Customer Service Industry with clients from different fields, such as Finance, Technology, and Health Care. She is involved in their local Deaf community as a group leader and junior interpreter.
