terptree provide the following services:
British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters enable communication between deaf and hearing people. This is crucial for those people who use BSL as their first or preferred language.
Comprehensive summary notes of the meeting, lecture or seminar are created at approximately 120 words per minute.
We can provide 1-2-1 specialist English language support to deaf people who whose first language is BSL or those who communicate orally.
STTR professionals to listen to speech and transcribe the text verbatim using a specialist keyboard. The text is displayed on a screen at 200-300 words per minute.
We can caption any pre-recorded lectures, so that they are accessible for deaf students studying on that particular course.
If the student has a preference for BSL Interpreting, we will use our network of highly qualified Interpreters to produce the content into BSL.
How terptree supports stakeholders:
You may not be assessing deaf students on a regular basis, so we are here to share our expertise to make this process simpler.
We share our knowledge on how to assess a deaf student through finding out more about their specific needs.
When we start working with a new student, we like to get to know their preferences and how they like to work.
We very quickly set up a welcome video call and a team of Interpreters is established around the student so that they receive consistent support.
The student will then receive a monthly check in to see how things are going.
We use our years of experience to impart useful knowledge and information to the Universities that we work with.
Communication is key, and we stay in regular contact with universities, providing them with information on how the student is getting on as well as regular budget updates.
